We understand that employers require a stable, loyal and skilled workforce in order to help their businesses grow.
We can help employers achieve this, by dealing with their employment and HR issues.
A wide range of services
We advise on the whole range of employment issues, from day-to- day employee relations to large-scale restructurings and redundancy programmes.
We have clients in a number of sectors including engineering, commodities, exhibitions, food manufacturing, software development, and hotels and hospitality.
We are therefore well placed to understand the specific needs of different business and to know where issues can arise.
Sometimes matters and disputes with employees or former employees escalate beyond the workplace, despite best efforts. If a matter becomes litigious, we can provide the expertise needed to help achieve the best possible outcome. We are experienced litigators in both the Employment Tribunal and High Court.
We can robustly defend claims from employees, or take action where your employees have taken confidential information or are competing with your business, by poaching clients or employees, in breach of post-termination restrictions.
Commercial and pragmatic advice
We are highly responsive and are always happy to talk through an issue.
Employers like to use our team as a sounding board on a variety of ongoing employee relations issues, for example when dealing with an employee on long-term sickness or an employee who is being performance managed.
Some employers may also require step-by-step guidance when a matter becomes difficult or contentious.
Leyton offers a subscription service for employers.
We can also offer a fixed fee arrangement on specific projects.
Some of our clients prefer to work with us on an hourly fee basis.
Each of our advisers are qualified, experienced employment lawyers.
We can also arrange insurance to cover legal costs in the event of employment tribunal claims by employees.
Monthly subscription service
Our subscription service allows clients to pay a monthly fee in return for an initial review and drafting/re-drafting of staff contracts and handbooks, together with unlimited employment law advice during office hours.
This advice will include drafting of all documents to employees, for example letters in respect of a disciplinary or redundancy consultation process.
